Just got back from a week in Leeds where I went to the Leeds Festival which returned for its tenth year. I have to say it was the best thing I’ve done in a while. Three days of excellent bands and music like The Fratellis, Dizzie Rascal, The Killers, Rage Against The Machine, Mystery Jets, One Night Only, Mindless Self Indulgence, Plain White T’s, Tenacious D, Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly. Taking Back Sunday, The Enemy, The Automatic, Editors, Bloc Party, Hadouken!, Pendulum, Kids in Glass Houses, The Ting Tings.
Everyday was really long but really enjoyable with music and drink flowing all day, except for the fact it was really really expensive but that’s kinda understandable.
It was a really good week and I’d recommend it to anyone in England who enjoys music, if not for the whole week, just for a day. Plus there’s also the Reading Festival which is the older brother to Leeds and features exactly the same line-ups as Leeds except on different days.
After one week of a very eventful Olympics everything seems to be going well in a country that before the games was drawing speculation over various situations that could occur.
The Great Britain Team have actually shown up this year. 3 Golds, 2 Silvers and 3 Bronze medals so far, Team GB look set on a Top 10 finish which would put them in a good position for the Top 4 finish in four years time at the London Olympics.
Team GB’s strong events such as Cycling Rowing and Sailing could mean more medals to come as there are plenty more finals to take place in those events.
One event I’ll be looking forward to is the Men’s and Women’s 4×100 & 4×400 relay’s in which the GB have always been very strong.
Obviously no one will beat the Chinese and the US in the medal’s table but I’m sure plenty of nations will put up a strong fight.
If I were a betting man I’d say that Team GB could come out with 25 medals in total if all goes well.
On a side note, the US swimmer Michael Phelps isn’t the Greatest Ever Olympiad like everyone is claiming. It has been said that if all events could be done in various strokes then there would be alot more medals up for grabs.
This has confused me abit, but aren’t Google Image Ads supposed to be targeted at the content of the website they appear on? Because although I don’t mind any ads that Google display on my website I would have thought it would be better to display ads which relate to the content of my website.
For example in the past few days the image ads on this website have displayed such ads as “Dating Direct”.
It seems strange because this means that visitors are less likely to click on the ads as they bear no relation to why they are viewing the site.
I guess I’ll look into it but I’m sure its supposed to be the case.
It’s been quite a while since I wrote my last book. I’m sure its time I got back into the swing of things and finished off the Defining Powers Series.
There have been alot of reasons why I haven’t written in awhile. Some of which include exams and real life distractions.
Really I shouldn’t be talking about starting writing again when I haven’t even finished HG Books where my writing’s would be published.
So I think I need to get back to that really.
I got my results yesterday for my A-Levels, and I’m pleased to say I got into the University I wanted to go to. I’m so excited to be going to Sheffield Uni and I can’t wait to get down there.
Also went out to celebrate last night and got a little worse for wears but that’s the norm on a results night. lol.
